Why You Should Do An
Empowering luxury Boudoir Photoshoot
- At the Window: This studio set utilises soft lighting from our "window". Elegant lingerie gives the images a romantic feel, while wearing a simple man's white shirt gives a more relaxed look.
- Satin Sheets: Satin Sheets is one of our most popular studio sets and one of our signature styles. It is very flattering with easy poses and works equally well whether you are size zero or size 20! Saucy lingerie works a treat...or you could wear less for something more risqué! If you are brave enough to bare all, we can use subtle angles and shadows to ensure your images remain completely tasteful and artistic
- The Mirror: There is something very sensual about The Mirror set. Photography techniques such as depth of field and soft focus can play a huge part in producing visually stunning images that draw you in to the scene. Great for singles or couples, you'll never look at yourself the same way again!
- The Wet Look: Oil and water combine to give amazing texture and visual attractiveness to our Wet Look set. Wear a bikini for a touch of glamour or bare all for more arty shots. A white vest can also be used for extra coverage and a wet t-shirt effect. If you are looking for some unique art for your walls, this set is perfect.
- Darkest Desires: Perfect for fans of 50 Shades of Grey! Wear your kinkiest outfit or just some elegant lingerie...or less - sexy boots or high heels are a must. Think leather, PVC, latex or lace lingerie and stockings. The chains are an optional prop - you can pose without them if you want a softer feel.
- Artistic Nude: This set is simple but very arty using body sculpting light to show the curves and lines of your shape. This set does work best naked, standing or lying down, but if you are feeling less confident it can be done in an" implied" way using fabric or hands to cover any areas you don't want to reveal. This set is both flattering and tasteful, using light and shadow to show you at your absolute best with poses that are really easy and complimentary for all body shapes. The images make great wall art as black and white or sepia prints for your bedroom or bathroom.

What’s on the outside should reflect on the inside, so the most important tip for choosing what to wear during your session is to pick things next to your skin that you feel confident in. Choose options ranging from sassy lingerie to his button down shirt and cuff links. If you’re feeling extra brave, you can opt to wear nothing at all under the shirt for those tantalizing “implied nude” photos! We will capture tasteful, beautiful and flattering poses. Whatever you choose, I want you to feel beautiful and confident. Staying true to yourself is the most beautiful look of all!
What To Wear
A babydoll is a feminine and delicate short, sleeveless and lose fitting nightwear. They can be super romantic and are the perfect lingerie for feeling effortlessly gorgeous.
Add one of our nightgowns or bring one of your own for that ultimate glamourous feeling.

Hey there, you bombshell with those killer curves. Corsets will cinch your waist and give you an hourglass shape. Think of the eighteenth century where the women wore corsets every day - they can be hard to put on, but don't worry - I'm happy to help you!

Bodysuits are one piece stretch garments that are super popular and very flattering especially if you are more on the conservative side, or you're wanting to leave your partner (if this is a gift for them, of course) yearning for more.

When shopping for these, proper fit is super important. so I do recommend being measured where possible. Be careful of push up bras, because sometimes they can make you look unnatural. Make sure the area of your armpit is smooth and not too tight, and you are not spilling out of the cups. It's more flattering on camera.

You've scheduled your boudoir session with Mi Amor Boudoir Photography a few months in advance. Awesome. Go Girl!
This timeline will help prepare you for your empowerment session.
Are you dieting in anticipation of the session, or taking those hot yoga classes you’ve been meaning to try?
I know from personal experience that the better you feel about yourself, the better you’ll look.
1 - 6 months
no. 01 |
- Schedule any beauty appointments. Hair and makeup is provided on the day!
- Give yourself lots of time to shop for something that makes you feel confident and gorgeous.
- If you would to advice on what to consider do get in touch. Alternatively we can put you in touch with a personal shopper.
1 month
no. 02 |
- Stay out of the direct sun. A tan and or spray tan can make you look orange in your images. Some tanning products also rub off or transfer onto fabrics and can ruin any of the lingerie pieces, the bedding, rugs or furniture.
- If you get waxed (bikini, lip, brow — whatever your normal routine is), make sure it's at least a few days prior to your session so that on the day any redness or irritation has subsided. The last thing you want is to be distracted by these little details.
- Drink plenty of water for that 'so beautiful' and flawless skin.
1 Week

- Hydrate! Drink plenty of water.
- Take a long bubble bath to relax. Listen to calming music. Meditate or do some yoga.
- Try on outfits and narrow down your wardrobe selection.
- Moisturize your skin all over before bedtime.
- Most important of all: Get a good night’s sleep!
Day Before

- I might sound like a broken record with this tip: Drink your water girlfriend!
- Use a clear deodorant.
- Wear LOOSE and comfortable clothing prior to arrival. If wearing lingerie please make sure that it won't pull against your skin and leave lines. Ideally come with just your outer layers and you can put your lingerie on here.
- This ensures there are no creases or marks from tight fitting clothing on your skin.
- Eat something light but filling. We'll provide snacks during your photoshoot.
- When you arrive for your appointment, we’ll provide you with your beverage choice: water, tea or even a little bubbly (mimosa, por favor) to soothe those nerves.

A great tip to prepare yourself for your luxury boudoir photoshoot, is to write down exactly why you are doing this.
Maybe it's to find self-love and to embrace your body, or to give a milestone gift to yourself or your partner. Whatever the reason, your photoshoot is an amazing celebration of these reasons, and you deserve it!

Make yourself a music playlist! Add all your favourite songs that you love and you can jam to during the photoshoot. Don't have a playlist? No worries. I've got lots to choose from!

Feeling nervous before your photoshoot is completely normal. Words have a lot of power, so I highly recommend to come up with a mantra for yourself. Practice your affirmation in front of the mirror. You can say something like-
"I am beautiful", or "I love my body".
Say it out loud, and believe it, because girl - it's definitely true!

I've totally got you covered there.
I know all the tips and tricks to create the most flattering angles for women of all shapes and sizes. Don't you worry about posing, I'll help you pose everything from your head to your toes.
We'll also be looking to coach your expression when looking at the camera. Whether it's a joyful celebration or a sultry look aimed at your significant other.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW TO POSE?
Yes, your portraits are fully edited by removing any bruises, scratches, skin blemishes, cleaning up fly away hairs and I do minor/light skin softening. I will NEVER EVER alter your body unless you specifically request it as that is not what an empowering boudoir session is about. It's about loving the skin you are in. I want you to look back on these in 10+ years and say “That's what I looked like and I'm damn proud I did this for myself.”
Do you do IMAGE EDITING?
Depending on how quickly you choose your final images, you will receive them within the week. You product can take up to 3-4 weeks to be delivered after that.
